Brick has been working closely with Wyld Sauna in bringing a traditional Nordic sauna experience to Liverpool Waters this autumn, in what will be the UK’s first public floating sauna.
Part of a wider waterside regeneration project, the sauna will be moored on the banks of Princes Dock, and it will provide a space to relax in the heart of the city.
The sauna will float on Liverpool’s only fresh water outdoor swimming venue and its compact design includes a pontoon containing a 30-person sauna, two ice baths, two cold waterfall showers, four heated outdoor showers with salt rub, outdoor seating and changing rooms.
The contemporary design is wrapped in Shou-Sugi-Ban timber cladding, which is a modern version of the ancient Japanese art of charring timber to provide a beautiful and long lasting timber cladding.
